J.C.R. Licklider wrote an article about “Man-Computer Symbiosis“. “The hope is that, in not too many years, human brains and computing machines will be coupled together very tightly, and that the resulting partnership will think as no human brain has ever thought and process data in a way not approached by the information-handling machines we know today” (1.1). Symbiotic relationships are those that both parties can not survive with out each other. The relationship between man and technology has grown to become symbiotic. Technology cannot survive without man because man is the driving force behind the technology. It makes technology greater and more advanced. As this goes on, man begins to rely on technology more and more. Children are no longer able to do their homework without computers. They have online homework instead of book work. Many children get on social media and have their own sites. As of right now, the relationship is symbiotic, however, will it always be this way?
The relationship between man and machine will always be a tricky one. There will always be some kind of dependency upon each other. Man depends on technology to get information and to connect to others. It gives a sense of self and acceptance. Technology will always depend on man to spread information.
